Long Tall Sally – Study
“Portaltech Reply understood our complex eCommerce requirements in a very short time frame. The highly responsive and innovative team provided the detailed technical documentation and implementation methodology we needed to have absolute confidence in their ability to implement the QuickLive Commerce platform in an extremely short timeframe.”
Andrew Shapin, Managing Director of Long Tall Sally
Long Tall Sally is a multichannel retailer of fashion for taller women with 20 Stores around the UK and multiple catalogues annually. Their mission is to be the first choice in fashion for tall women in the UK and worldwide.
The Brief:
Long Tall Sally came to Portaltech Reply because they wanted:
- Greater flexibility
- A multi language, multi currency website
- A flexible content management system
- The ability to create and manage powerful promotions
The Solution:
We suggested that Long Tall Sally use the hybris://QuickLive platform, which provides the flexibility and functionality that Long Tall Sally needs to manage its existing online, catalogue and retail channels in the UK. It also provided the ongoing scalability and multi currency capabilities that the company required to expand its presence in the US and across Europe as part of its long term plans to build the brand globally.
Long Tall Sallyʼs decision to invest in QuickLive Commerce enabled the company to launch and manage multiple sites with relative ease. The new platform is easier to maintain, required less training and eliminated much of the costly integration of disparate technologies, thus reducing the overall cost of ownership.
The integrated content management system enables website content to be easily updated by marketing professionals, resulting in fresh content being made available more regularly and on demand by the business.
In addition to this, the latest product information and pricing is available from a single source, whether it is accessed via the online channel, via the established mail order catalogue, or by call centre operators and in-store.
The new eCommerce system significantly enhanced the companyʼs online merchandising and promotional capabilities, enabling the company to drive sales conversion rates through its full-text search facility, interactive product recommendations and a user review system that allows customers to rate products and buyer experience overall.
Measurable benefits since launch:
- 28% increase in conversion rates (Equates to over £1 million additional revenue)
- 163% increase in traffic generated through SEO
- Average order value increased by 42%
- Web business grew from £5.5m to £20m in first 12 months
- Winner of the 2009 BCS UK IT Award
